Facility and Property Manager

Job Summary

The Facility and Property Manager has three main areas of responsibility: physical management of owned and leased properties, sourcing new investments and project/data management. The Facility and Property Manager will be involved in both strategic planning and day-to-day operations of Makassed Saida properties.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain procedures for the physical management of owned and leased properties
  • Maintain Makassed Society’s properties records about both owned and leased
  • Ensure that the Makassed Society’s properties (owned and leased) have comprehensive set of cyclical maintenance contracts and monitoring effectiveness, quality, safety and cost
  • Prepare plans for preventive, corrective and regular routine maintenance
  • Manage and execute the maintenance needs on time according a set schedule
  • Ensure that property is well maintained and complies with relevant legislation
  • Establish effective relationships with suppliers and develop a portfolio of suppliers able to meet the needed requirements
  • Invite tenders, seek quotations or negotiate for needed work in property management
  • Monitor and review agreed contracts performance
  • Make arrangements for the maintenance of buildings and grounds maintenance and Service Management
  • Collecting rent and other properties fees from tenants
  • Paying property expenses, including taxes, insurance premiums and maintenance costs in coordination with Finance Department
  • Meeting potential tenants, showing them the property and assessing their applications in accordance with the applied official laws
  • Investigating and resolving property complaints and rental violations
  • Reporting the properties’ financial status, occupancy and expiring leases to Director of Real Estate and Technical Department

Educational Background and Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in facility management, engineering, business administration or relevant field. A master’s level education in relevant field of study will be an advantage
  • Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
  • Knowledge of rental contracts and property and other official laws
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English Languages
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Good analytical/critical thinking
  • Organization and the ability to multitask efficiently
  • Problem-solving to find effective solutions for a variety of potential issues
  • Ability to work under pressure
